How are sector times made?

We divide the track into three segments and use reference points on the track.

These reference points may be a strip, a line, or a change in surface.

When does the sector start?

It depends mostly on your POV, but sectors start when a part of your kart crosses the reference point — usually the front left or right tyre.

Accuracy of Sector Times

Because these aren’t official sector times, they won’t be 100% precise.

Each sector has an accuracy of up to 0.060 seconds, which is extremely minimal.

For a typical 45-second lap, this means sector accuracy is roughly 99.5%.

Accuracy can be affected by:

  • Different camera frame rates
  • Varying POV angles
  • Transponder position (often at the back of the kart)

Despite these small limitations, sector times remain a highly useful tool for analysing performance, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and improving lap times.

Green Sector

Your fastest personal sector time.

A green sector shows you’ve beaten your previous best for that specific part of the track — a fast, easy way to spot improvement.

Yellow Sector

Slower than your personal best.

A yellow sector indicates this part of the track took longer than your fastest attempt.

Use it to identify areas where you can brake later, push harder, or refine your racing line.

Red Sector

A red sector usually appears when it’s unclear exactly when you crossed the reference point — often because you were turned, looking sideways, behind, or not facing forward enough.

To maintain accuracy, we never guess the crossing point.

Instead, the time is marked as INC (Inclusive) in red to show it cannot be measured reliably.

Purple Sector

We cannot provide purple sectors.

Purple sectors require knowing the sector times of other drivers on track — data we do not have access to.

To keep analysis fair and reliable, we only show information based on your performance, ensuring all comparisons are meaningful and consistent.
